The technique of using translucent enamels has added a new dimension to the Art of Cloisonne, the centuries old art of applying colorful enamels to the surface of a bronze of copper object. This artistic technique requires several time-consuming steps, starting with molding the base metal in to the desired shape. Then brass wires are soldered to form a pattern, into which colored and translucent anamels are inlaid, then fired.
